About Leah Laird

Growing up in the eccentric, hippified border town of Bisbee, Arizona, Leah was always “up to something” involving design, painting, video, theater, creative writing, sculpture, music, or feng shui.

Now living in Austin, Texas, her favorite things to do are: supporting local businesses by trying *all* the new restaurants, painting in her makeshift in-home studio, and consistently exposing herself to new experiences (she can take an ice bath like a beast.) She values a growth mindset above all else, and is enthusiastic about shining a big spotlight on the beauty and fun that already exists everywhere.

Why Prickly Silk? Leah combines colorful with clean, chaotic with minimal, boring with fun, prickly with silk. She is repelled by the idea of staying static, and approaches design as a living/breathing beast. Her results aren’t just about a finished product, they’re about combining creation with meticulous planning, courageous experimentation, captivating copy, good ole fashion team work, and seeing-it-through to production.
